We are a unique charity founded by local community residents who have a passion to change their neighbourhood!

Leicester North West Alchemy is a charitable company which came into being in 2005.  Our aim is to bring about economic, social and environmental transformation of the Leicester North West area through educational programmes in subjects relating to

• Enterprise;
• Financial literacy;
• Marketing skills;
• Personal skills;
• Social interaction;
• Running a business;
• Entrepreneurship;
• Arts/media;
• Recycling initiatives.

The charitable company is governed by it memorandum dated 20th January 2006 and Articles updated 20th September 2006.  Strategic and day-to-day management is executed by a voluntary board of 13 Directors/Trustees whose skills, competence and expertise span a wide spectrum (e.g. education, youth and community development, financial management, human resource management, fashion designing, recycling and information communication technology). The Board meets on a regular basis throughout the year.

The organisation has continued to make significant progress by:

• Working with local secondary schools in the promotion of enterprise education;

• Collaborating with partner organisations in offering training, advice and guidance to entrepreneurs; assisting with business start-ups and skills development;

• Hosting workshops and seminars for disadvantaged groups to access available resources to enhance their quality of life;

• Hiring specialist organisations in the delivery of our programmes;

• Community celebratory events to recognize achievement, raise awareness and bring about a sense of togetherness;
• Regeneration of derelict buildings in our neighbourhood;
• Engaging with our community!

From time to time, the organisation buys in the services of specialist individuals/organisations.

Remade which was project born out of the Alchemy process has now been officially adopted by our charity. It is just finished running a series of workshops, which lead up to a Fashion Show @ Babington Community Technology College on September 12th 2008.

Leicester North West Alchemy’s Board of volunteer directors are willing to hear from individuals with varying levels of expertise, knowledge, experience and skills in community development, project development, organizational development, human resources and who also possess the ability to work with diverse communities. Individuals who believe they could be an asset to the Charity in helping to make a DIFFERENCE are encouraged to make contact.
